You will need 8 squares. |
With back of tile facing up,fold diagonally and open back up. |
Fold to the other diagonal and leave folded. |
Fold right outside corner down to meet bottom point. |
Fold left outside corner down to meet bottom point. |
Fold right bottom point up to meet top point. |
Open last fold and create "squash" fold to meet right point. |
Fold left side out so edge meets outside edge of square. |
Open last fold and create "squash" fold to make centerlines lay on top of one another. |
Glue pieces together by overlapping square squash fold to centerline of next piece. |
Completed medalion of 8 folds. |

Begin with the 8 folds you just completed, but before assembly. |
With back of fold facing up,cut through the two back layers as indicated by the dark line. You will end up with two loose triangles |
Assemble the folds into a medallion as shown in the first set of instructions. |
Glue one triangle between the points extending out of the medallion. |
Fold each of the remaining triangles as shown: First turn with the back facing you. Fold top point down to center. Fold left top edge to become center line. Fold right top edge to meet denter line. |
Glue these folds into a medallion by meeting center points and overlapping edge of oneto fold line of next. Glue this little medallion into center of larger medallion. |
This creates a very three dimensional medallion that LOOKS very complicated. |
