Altering books is not a subversive activity! Rather than destroying a 'perfectly good book' it is the act of using ones artistic skills to add
to the work. Altering may involve cutting out pages, sections or 'caches' in the book, adding collage, painting, rubber stamping and adding pages - among other things.
Altering may be done related to the topic of the book or not...
there aren't really many rules,
except to remember that a work of art is being created.
