Embroidery on paper or cards is relaxing and produces a beautiful product. When I can't find a free pattern for a design or theme I have in mind, I make on up myself. I use CorelDraw for this.
The items below which include instructions are of my own design and are free for you to use. You may make copies to share as long as you identify the source. The patterns cannot be sold. You MAY sell the cards you make from these patterns.

Stitched in bold colors on a plain background for contrast. This design
would make a suitable card for any occasion. It is pricked at the ends of each colored line and stitched
by the color coding

I print a floral on card, layer parchment over and stitch through
both. The instructions include two series of stitching, one for the gradients and one for the
outline. I like to do this in gold metallic thread.

Worked in pastels or in shades of beige, this looks good stitched

Very complicated! Once you prick the holes at the ends of
every colored line you have just begun. I find it best to refer to the pattern when
stitching and do all the purple first, the green next and finish with the yellow.

Stitching Instructions
This is stitched in two rounds. First the darker color is first stitched
in the 'fan' portion of design. Then the same holes are used with a lighter shade to define the
petal edges.

Work the glove on brown cardstock and the ball on white. Cut both out
just outside the stitching lines. Mount one on top of the other as shown using foam tape to
make 3D.

the roof in green. Work branches in brown, road in brown, and roadsides in green. As an alternative
to change the season, work french knots at the ends and intersections of the branches.

a fill-in stitch like the sample. Just make sure the hat is red and the feather is
purple. As a finishing touch, small beads are string and serve as a necklace.
